The Ontario Medical Student Bursary Fund (OMSBF) has successfully completed phase one of its fund-raising campaign, surpassing the initial target of $1.7 million in its first full year of operation. The second phase of the campaign will address foundation and corporate donations.
During the past year, the excellent staff of the Ontario Medical Association has performed beyond expectations, donating countless hours to ensure the success of this initiative.
The medical students of Ontario have been central to lobbying efforts directed at provincial and federal politicians. In addition, the help of Drs. Albert Schumacher, William Orovan, and Diamond Allidina has been invaluable to the Fund’s success.
Dr. Schumacher’s vision and industry in instituting this project, and Dr. Orovan’s organizational and advisory expertise, have been germinal to the successful fund-raising efforts.
Dr. Allidina has given generously of his time and, as one of the OMA’s most influential physician lobbyists in Ottawa, has been invaluable in forging liaisons with the federal government in areas of health, human resources and finance.
The continued success of the Ontario
Medical Student Bursary Fund depends on physician support. To contribute
