Inquiry Service
The Inquiry Service responds to calls from patients and the general public about physicians and general health care concerns. This service receives approximately 2,000+ calls per year pertaining to a number of issues. The most prominent issues are: physician billing practices, access to medical records and the appropriate fees, third-party billings, and miscommunication between physicians and patients. The intention of this service is, firstly, to answer questions from patients and from members of the public on behalf of the medical profession. Secondly, the service exists in order to facilitate resolution of concerns between patients and physicians. Approximately thirty telephone calls per month are received where physicians are called immediately to resolve issues often related to billing or medical files.
