Dr. G. David Millman, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022.

Born in Montreal, a gentle and loving son, an all-around athlete, and academic success.

“Mr. Strathcona” in high school, McGill “Scarlet Key,” Medical Students’ Society president at U of Saskatchewan, surgical fellowships in the U.S. and U.K.; a skilled and caring reconstructive surgeon in Toronto whose cleft palate repairs saved and changed so many young lives.

Treasured team doctor to the NHL Oldtimers, and on-tour physician to Canada’s national downhill ski team, the “Crazy Canucks”.

Most importantly, a devoted husband to his beautiful Birgit: they met in Geneva in 1964, and he lured her from Denmark to Canada after just a couple of days together.

An inspiring and loving father to Tina (Cal) and Michael (Alexandra). Beloved older brother to Jerry and Cheryl (Neal). Grandfather to Emily, Benjamin, Jakob, Camille, and Jesse.

A lifetime buddy to Bobby, Larry, Lenny, and Donny.

David battled his way back from a catastrophic brain aneurysm at 62 with the sheer grit that summed him up and wowed us all.

22 years later, he died in Vancouver with family at his bedside.

David is buried in Vancouver, and memorial donations may be made to Operation Smile or toll-free 1-844-376-4530.
