Dr. Jane Anne Upfold passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospice of London on Oct. 26, 2022. Jane was in her 66th year. Beloved wife of John Gubbels; dear mother of Michael and William Upfold; sadly missed by her sister Jill (Upfold) Ross and Jill’s husband Ron Ross; predeceased for many years by her loved prior husband Richard (Dick) White.
Jane was born in London, Ont., in 1956. She is the daughter of Winnifred Cathers and Harvey Upfold. Jane grew up in Glanworth, Ont. She became a physician and worked for many years as a hospital emergency room doctor and then as an MD psychotherapist.
Jane is sorrowfully missed by many friends in the medical, fitness, theatre and charity communities, as well as scores of former patients.
Donations can be made in her honour to the Saturday dinner program at the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church. Jane helped for many years with the church’s meal outreach program for food insecure people in the community.
