OMA Statement on Ebola

Toronto, October 17, 2014 - The Ontario Medical Association is encouraged by the announcement made today by the Minister of Health and Long-Term care regarding the commitment to ensuring Ontario is prepared for any potential Ebola case.

Already a considerable amount of preparation has taken place in Ontario. That being said, these enhanced readiness measures will work to ensure patients and front-line health-care providers are reassured that our system is prepared to effectively diagnose and care for Ebola patients.

Ontario’s Doctors have been in regular communication with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Public Health Ontario, and other health-care providers and we will continue to work collaboratively with our partners to help ensure the safety of all Ontarians.
