The District, Section and some Medical Interest Group elections are run yearly and are done solely online allowing for a standardized election process and a streamlined experience for our members.

A member must put their name forward for a position in the online nomination system, along with the CPSO numbers and corresponding emails from three or more colleagues. These colleagues must belong to the same constituency group (i.e., District, Section or MIG) as the member.
The member’s three nominators will each receive an email containing a link that will ask them to either approve or not approve the member’s nomination request through the online nomination system by December 17th.
Members running for a District Director position also have the option of requesting nomination by the Nominating Sub-Committee. To select this option a member must put their name forward for the position in the online nomination and submit a CV and candidate statement for review. The Nominating Sub-Committee has until December 6th to approve the candidate. If a candidate is not approved by one of the routes they may opt to switch routes as long as the expiry date for such route has not yet passed.
All OMA Members who are eligible to vote will receive a Notice of Voting via email on January 15th with a link to the voting site.
Position Statements and Photos for the candidates who are standing for election in the District, Section or MIGs that the member belongs to will be viewable on the voting site, and votes can be cast up until January 30th at 2:00 pm.
