Not a Second Longer

With the provincial election approaching this June, the OMA has developed an election focused ad campaign titled Not a Second Longer. The campaign demonstrates the repercussions of the government’s poor decision-making by confronting long and painful wait times in Ontario.

Incorporating feedback from the general membership and Board of Directors, Not a Second Longer intends to apply pressure within election based conversations to make physician delivered healthcare a priority. The campaign reflects the concern that doctors and the public have around wait times, while also providing a platform to mobilize Ontario’s doctors to engage in conversations about healthcare with their MPP and/or the candidates in their riding.

The Not a Second Longer campaign features various formats including video, radio, digital and social media (Facebook, YouTube and Instagram); with special targeting that will ensure the campaign is displayed to individuals accessing the internet while in various Ontario hospitals and medical settings.

It is important to note that this election ad campaign is not occurring in isolation, but rather, as a part of a broad organizational communications plan including government and stakeholder relations, earned media (traditional media coverage gained through profile raising efforts) and messaging on our social media channels. Our Health Care Advocate Program will also be active during the election.

The public campaign is set to run until the election (on or before June 7, 2018).

With the provincial election fast approaching, the candidates in your riding need to know that health care is a priority for Ontario. As a physician and advocate for better health care, take action today by sending a letter to your candidates letting them know you will not wait a second longer for the health care your patients deserve.

TAKE ACTION

Wait times in Ontario are getting worse, and it’s the government’s fault. Your doctor doesn’t want you to wait a second longer. Visit www.NotaSecondlonger.ca to take action today.
