Toronto Aug. 18, 2015 – As the Supreme Court of Canada ruled early this year that patients in Canada have the right to assistance in ending their lives in certain circumstances, Ontario’s doctors support the decision of the provinces and territories to work cooperatively to provide a framework that allows patients access to medical aid in dying while recognizing the rights of physicians to decline to participate if they are morally opposed.
