Dr. Virginia M. Walley


Dr. Virginia M. Walley is the 135th President of the Ontario Medical Association.

During her term, Dr. Walley will actively work to secure a fair and reasonable agreement between Ontario’s doctors and government.

Despite the challenges she faces, she will also focus on engaging with physicians and physicians-in-training in new ways, by using social media and digital technology. She will be encouraging more women to take up leadership positions in Ontario’s health-care system.

Dr. Walley trained in medicine at the University of Western Ontario; she has worked in laboratory medicine and health-care leadership positions in Ottawa, Halifax, and Peterborough. She previously held teaching positions at the University of Ottawa, Dalhousie University, and is currently appointed at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Walley now works as the Ontario Medical Director for LifeLabs. Dr. Walley has been a member of the OMA Board for 10 years. She is a Past President of the Ontario Association of Pathologists, and a former Board Director of the Canadian Medical Association. Originally from Deep River, in the Ottawa Valley, Dr. Walley now calls Peterborough home.

Dr. Toth


Dr. Toth was the 134th President of the Ontario Medical Association.

Dr Michael Toth


He has been involved with the OMA for a number of years.

He was past OMA Board Chair, past Governance Chair, past Health Policy Chair, and has served on OMA negotiating committees.

Dr. Toth is a family physician from Aylmer in Southwestern, Ontario where he has practiced for nearly 30 years.

He is the Associate Lead Physician of the Elgin Family Health Organization, the Medical Director of Terrace Lodge, Home for the Aged, and he sits on the Medical Advisory Committee of St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital.

He is married with two children.
