Dr. John Simurda, of Gatineau, Que., died at the age of 99 on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, at Montfort Hospital, Ottawa, Ont.
He was born on June 12, 1923, in Volova, Slovakia. He arrived in Canada at the age of five with his parents Mike and Suzanne (predeceased). He obtained his degree in medicine from the University of Ottawa.
