Next steps in governance transformation

Key milestones keep us moving toward our inaugural meeting in September.

With the General Assembly orientation and kick-off complete, staff is now working together with the Governance Transformation Implementation Steering Committee and OMA constituency group leaders (Sections, Districts, and Fora) to map the next steps looking ahead to the inaugural meeting of the Priorities and Leadership Group planned for late September 2021.

There will be extensive communications to members via OMA News to explain the next phases of the governance transformation, including eligibility for various positions, and the recruitment and appointment process. A brief summary of key milestones for the months ahead is provided below.

July

  • Delegate selection begins
  • General Assembly Steering Committee (GASC) chair and vice-chair recruitment begins
  • panel recruitment begins

August

  • networks complete delegate confirmation process
  • GASC chair and vice-chair election and GASC member recruitment begins following delegate appointment
  • panel appointments finalized

September

  • GASC chair and vice-chair onboarding and meeting preparation
  • remaining GASC members elected
