The Ontario Medical Association (OMA) advocates for the well-being of our 43,000 plus physicians, medical students, and retired physicians, and the health of Ontarians. The OMA is a membership organization that represents the political, clinical, and economic interests of Ontario physicians. Practicing physicians, residents, and medical students enrolled in any of the six Ontario faculties of medicine are eligible for OMA membership.
The executive vice president, advocacy and communications (EVP), is responsible for both advancing and protecting the OMA’s reputation and brand. Specifically, the EVP will lead effective advocacy and brand-building activities on behalf of Ontario’s doctors, directing the creation, implementation and evaluation of best-in-class, evidence-based marketing communications, government relations, public affairs, and strategic communications programs aimed at supporting the short and long-term corporate goals of the OMA.
The ideal candidate will possess a master's degree and at least 15 years of progressive leadership experience in communications, marketing and public affairs, ideally in health care or another complex public sector or association environment.

The executive director/chief technology officer provides vision, leadership and accountability for the information technology strategy and execution at the association. They will set the agenda and culture for technology to enhance the member and employee experience, and support innovation and organizational strategy. Reporting to the chief financial and operating officer, and leading team of 30, the chief of technology will partner with the business to develop and implement a comprehensive IT vision, strategy and plan. You will identify IT and digital solutions and innovation to create value for members while modernizing the technology stack and operations.
The executive director/chief technology officer role requires a strong communicator and leader who understands and can leverage technology to advance overall organizational strategy and enhance the member experience. A relationship builder with the ability to forge consensus across a diverse organization, they bring a strong service orientation and demonstrated experience driving digital transformation. Your strong technical skills are complemented by your ability to build consensus and work collaboratively across a complex organization.

Job Summary
The executive director is responsible for implementing an integrated Human Resources strategy including Human Resources, Learning & Development, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.
You Will Make a Difference By:
• Providing strategic advice to; design, develop, guide, and implement People & Culture (P&C) and talent management programs and strategies aligned with OMA values that support the organization's operational and strategic priorities including programs such as compensation & benefits, recruitment, performance management, job evaluation and succession planning.
• Overseeing all learning and development programs to support the achievement of organization’s transformation, strategic priorities, and culture.
• Leading and acting as a strategic influencer in driving an environment of inclusiveness and belonging.
• Acting as key change agent, providing expertise and advice for people initiatives, and collaborating on organizational projects. Identify and diagnose impact on organization wide change, advising, developing, and implementing effective interventions.
• Leading the development, implementation, and monitoring of performance systems.
• Working with leaders and leadership to cultivate an inclusive, innovative, respectful culture across the enterprise, actively building short- and long-term plans to engage and prepare the workforce for the future.
• Partnering with Operational Excellence and Finance teams with the integrated enterprise annual planning process.
• Developing and utilizing HR systems metrics and analytics to identify trends and evaluate the impact of HR programs and services.
• Providing senior leadership by overseeing applicable budgets, leading, and supporting talent management programs in achieving the strategic goals of the Association.
• Complying with all relevant legislation and OMA policies, championing change and maintaining knowledge of industry trends and practices.
Requirements That Are Important to Us:
• A proven thought leader with progressive experience and track record in designing HR and organizational development programs.
• CHRL designation is required.
• A strong customer focus both internally and externally with OMA members.
• A proactive leader with demonstrated success in championing and leading change and transforming culture.
• Prosci designation is an asset.
• A proven ability to link P&C strategies, focus and goals to support the achievement of the organization’s business strategy, vision, and mission.
• Deep commitment and understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion issues.
• Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills with a demonstrated record of strategic influencing and consensus building.
• Systems thinker with ability to utilize data to identify business impact and trends.
• Demonstrated inclusive growth leadership and coaching skills.
