Council Memory Project

former council members posing together at OMA events

The Council Memory Project is an archiving program based on member contributions to celebrate the history of council and share visions for the future.

The next 140 years of the OMA will look very different from the last. The OMA Council Memory Project is our members’ record of how they got here, what they achieved and what they see for the future. With the final meeting of council and the introduction of the general assembly, and a post-pandemic world that promises to be a time of even greater rapid change, it is an ideal opportunity to engage all members to be a part of this project.

Share your story with the Council Memory Project

Every OMA member, past and present, has a story that contributes to the OMA’s collective memory. If you have a story to tell, or an interesting photo or video, please submit them to us. We encourage you to capture your memories and reflections on council and share your knowledge and vision of the OMA’s future with the rest of the association.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • What is your earliest memory of council?
  • What are some of the greatest achievements of council?
  • What is your most memorable or funniest story from council?
  • Where do you see the OMA or the medical profession in the future?
