With great sadness we announce the passing of Rosey Honig on September 21, 2024, in Toronto.
Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, she was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Olga Honig; and by her husband and soulmate, Emory Burke.
Survived by her beloved family: daughters, Karen and Amy Burke; granddaughters, Halle and Lexie; sister and brother-in-law, Debby and David Conn, and their children, Nathalie and Jon, Adam and Alana.
She graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1979 and was an exceptionally dedicated Family Physician. Her workplaces included office-based practice, the Emergency Department at North York General Hospital and long-term care homes. She was also a part-time travel agent, organizing fabulous vacations for family and friends. She and Emory travelled extensively, but Italy was the place they loved the most. She was an extraordinary chef and baker who loved to entertain.
Special thanks to the physicians and staff at Toronto Western Hospital and Lyndhurst Rehabilitation Hospital and to Melinda for their wonderful care and compassion.
Memorial donations can be made to Neshama, the Jewish Hospice or to Beit Halochem Canada. LYMY.
