Dr. Jessica Biederman

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Jessica (Jess) Biederman on March 16, 2025, at Hospice Quinte. Jess died peacefully and surrounded by family after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was the beloved wife of Dr. Allan Bell, whom she began dating in high school in Port Elgin before attending the University of Toronto together for medical school. Jess then completed a radiology residency at Queen’s University, prior to beginning her diagnostic radiology career at Quinte Health. There, she led the Breast Program, before later transitioning to the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital.

"I'm just a picture doctor," was her frequent humble refrain. However Jess's clinical acumen, genuine kindness, helpful attitude and accessible teaching style made her truly invaluable. She was a trusted colleague, an advocate for patients and an all-around lovely human being.

Above all, Jess was a devoted mother who took great joy in cheering on her daughter, Vanessa, at hockey arenas and on golf courses across the province and internationally.

Loved by all, she will be truly missed. Please consider a donation to Hospice Quinte or Quinte Humane Society in her name. A serenity garden will be created in her memory at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital in Napanee, Ont.
