Dr Henry Rodrigues de Souza died peacefully at home on Jan. 9, 2024, surrounded by family. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Dr. Joyce de Souza, his parents Henry and Lucy, his sisters Henrietta, Angela, Teresa, Sheila and Monica and by his brother Jacinto (Sonny) de Souza.
He was a King's Scout, a lifeguard, a competitive swimmer and a competitive oarsman, and later a doctor and specialist in pediatrics, internal medicine neurology and nephrology in St. Catharines. Over the years, he held a number of important teaching roles at Queens, Western and McMaster universities and was a pioneer in the introduction of renal dialysis during his time in the United Kingdom.
