Ontario’s doctors welcome COVID booster shot announcement

TORONTO, Nov. 3, 2022—Ontario’s doctors welcomed the government announcement today that vulnerable groups and health-care workers are eligible for COVID-19 booster shots.

The Ontario Medical Association urged eligible groups to get those booster doses of an mRNA vaccine as soon as they are available to them.

“We hope these booster shots will provide additional protection against “breakthrough” infections among those who are most at risk,” said OMA President Dr. Adam Kassam. “Being vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and your communities.”

Anyone with questions about the vaccine should ask their family doctor or pediatrician or call their local public health unit.
