Dr. Andrea Kimberley Jones

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Andrea (Andi) Jones at her home peacefully on March 10, 2026, in her 57th year.

Andrea was born in Vancouver and grew up in Elmsdale, N.S. She attended Mount Allison University before being accepted to medicine at Dalhousie University. It was there she met her future husband Daniel Scanlan and they matched together for residency at the University of Western Ontario, where she graduated from family medicine in 1999.

A growing family of four moved to Penetang, Ont., in 2001, where Andrea began practising emergency medicine. She earned further credentials as a sports medicine physician and created the first dedicated service in the community. Her volunteer activities are too numerous to count, and she also served as team physician for various Hockey Canada and Ball Hockey Canada entries.

She earned her reputation as a professional, a teacher and a caring human being.
Andrea is survived by husband Dan; children Jack (Olivia), Casey (Sophia), Callum and Tatum; parents Tom and Lindy; parents-in-law Milton and Carole; sister Christy (Kevin); sister-in-law Shawna (Jeff); and nephews Brett, Oliver and Damon.
