Dr. Hugh Trevor Hallam

Surgeon

Dr. Hugh Hallam, 94, (Sept. 21, 1931 – Feb. 14, 2026) will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary; his children Heather (Carl) and Iain (Rebecca); and his four grandchildren, Trevor, Syd, Evan and Claire.

Hugh will be remembered as a talented and kind surgeon who helped multiple others extend their lives. He developed many personal interests over the years that included bread-making, beekeeping, golfing, horseback riding and playing the bagpipes in the 48th Highlanders. Hugh embraced Scottish culture, poetry, reading and travel adventures. He was an avid walker and he enjoyed engaging in intelligent discussions. For many years he rated golf courses and worked as a golf course marshal.

For 25 years, he volunteered translating books into Braille for the CNIB.

Hugh lived a long, remarkable life that he savoured privately without the need for fanfare. Respecting his wishes, he will be quietly cremated and remembered by his immediate family.

Make a donation

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket. The caring staff and volunteers were wonderful.
