What to include in a referral to an allergist
Include the following information with your referral:
- Details of the reaction or concern the patient had, including timing and symptoms
- For medication allergies, what medication they received (for example, what penicillin antibiotic)
- Full past medical history and medication list
Connect with an allergist
You can get advice from an allergist through:
- Ontario eConsult (not a substitute for referral)
- Ontario Telemedicine Network
You can use these services when you have a general question or a question about a patient who does not require a referral.
