Welcome
Congratulations on starting residency! Whether you’re an Ontario, Canadian or international medical graduate, the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) welcomes you to this next stage in your career.
We are here to support you both personally and professionally through all your successes and challenges.
Message from the OMA President
“Residency is a series of incrementally increasing responsibilities. Study hard, work harder, learn from not only your mistakes (you will make them), but that of others’ as well. Do it with intent. You will emerge a stronger, wiser version of yourself.”
- Dr. Samantha Hill
President, Ontario Medical Association

OMA Insurance
When you join the OMA, you get access to OMA Insurance, one of the most popular benefits among medical students, residents and physicians.
As a resident member, we are pleased to offer you our Student Special Offer which provides you with OMA Disability Insurance without medical evidence before July 31, 2020. Just enrol as a graduating medical student.
Should you ever need to go on a disability claim, our program may compliment the disability coverage you have through PARO. Contact us at info@omainsurance.com for details.
If you already have the OMA Student Life and Disability plan, there is nothing for you to do. The plan automatically transitions with you into residency and becomes payable on September 1, 2020.
