Join a focus group and help us improve out-of-hospital EMRs

We’re inviting community-based physicians to join a virtual focus group to talk about how electronic medical records work outside of hospitals.

We want to hear from you. Earlier this year, together with OntarioMD, we surveyed doctors about what they love, hate, and wish for in their EMRs — and the responses were eye-opening. Now, we’re hosting small group discussions to dive deeper. Join us to share how your EMR helps or hinders your workflow — and help shape the future of better digital tools for physicians.

These discussions will help us shape and further develop recommendations for the 2024 Advocacy, Communications and Engagement (ACE) panel priority: Enhance the functionality/usability of out-of-hospital certified EMRs to help physicians work faster and better.

What are these focus groups about

We want to:

  • Better understand which EMR features matter most and least to physicians
  • Let doctors talk with each other about what matters most in an EMR and share their views and experience
  • Help us understand how EMRs create extra work or inefficiencies, so we can better advocate for physicians

Who we're looking for

Physicians practising in community settings, including:

  • Primary Care physicians (with groups for major EMRs: TELUS PS Suite, Accuro, OSCAR Pro)
  • Medical specialists
  • Surgical specialists

Other key details

  • Small groups (up to six physicians), with a trained facilitator from OMD
  • A 1.5-hour session, held online
  • You’ll be paid for your time
  • Spots are limited, and not everyone will be selected. Those who are will be contacted directly by the General Assembly team within two business days of registration
  • Please note that each participant should register for one session only
